The North East International Film Festival

The Festival is designed around collaboration and interaction. Filmmakers will submit their work through Film Freeway for a fee per submission. Our judging panel will review submissions from January until August 2023. They will then select winners and runner ups for each category. The Festival schedule is arranged around the following activities:

VIP Networking Events

A VIP network gathering which will be attended by industry professionals, to include canapes and a welcome drink for which tickets will be made available through the website and Eventbrite.

Workshops

Free, educational workshops will also take place throughout the city for people wanting to hone their craft, learn and develop new skills or just generalised info.

Special screenings

There will be special one off screenings of award winning films followed by question and answer sessions and interviews with leading Actors, Directors, Writers and Producers. Information on the special screenings shall be released in 2021.

Screening of finalist films

Two full days screening of finalist films, open to filmmakers and the general public.

Awards ceremony

The Closing Awards Ceremony will commence with a welcome drink, networking/mingling and photographic and media opportunities. Guests will then be seated for a three course dinner and drinks. The ceremony will be opened and the awards will be presented by special guests. The evening will also include live music and entertainment. The event will showcase local brands and produce. All finalists and award winners will have the opportunity to participate. Hospitality packages and a small number of tickets will also be made available to the general public for a fee.

Open internationally.

The festival will take place in November 2021 and submissions will be made via the upcoming dedicated NEIFF website and Film Freeway. These are open internationally.
